My baby is 2 months old!

Bauer is 2 months old and I can't believe it! Where did the past two months go? He goes for his 2 month wellness checkup on Tuesday and I can't wait to see how much he is weighing now. He is definitely a big eater, so I am guessing we have at least a 14 pounder on our hands. Unfortunately, this is the doctors visit that begins the series of several vaccinations. Poor guy! Honestly, I think I will take it harder than he does. I will update everyone on how things go.

Weekend Guests

This past weekend our friends Christy and Chad from Asheville drove down to visit us. Christy was a college friend of ours that we have stayed in contact with over the years. It has been awhile since we had seen them last so we were excited to see them. Christy and Chad have a beautiful 2 and a half year old girl and another little one on the way. It was great seeing them, meeting little Cameron for the first time and introducing Bauer to them.

On Saturday morning, Chad and Christy headed to the beach with Cameron while we stayed behind with Bauer. He is still a bit young to take to the beach. But, just think, by this time next year our little one will be playing in the sand and wading in the water :). So much fun!


Here is a picture of Cameron all dressed and ready for some fun in the sun. As you can see she wasn't really into posing for the camera because she was too busy watching cartoons.

Later in the evening we went out for dinner and then we went downtown Wilmington and enjoyed strolling along the river on the River walk. The weather was perfect and as always the atmosphere downtown was just charming.

Settle, Bauer and I hated to see them leave on Sunday. We had such a fun time and can't wait until we can get together again.

6 Week Portraits

We took Bauer to have his portraits taken today. We were really impressed at how well they turned out. It was really difficult deciding on which poses we wanted because they all turned out so good. Here are just some of our favorites. Enjoy!

Busy Days

Where do I begin??? Or, should I say, Where in the world have I been??? The past weeks have been busy around our household. With so much going on and with the added responsibility of having a little one we have noticed many changes around our house lately. Everyone warned us. The laundry has piled up and we have let other household chores go that can be done at a later time. For now, Settle and I are trying to savor every moment with Bauer.

Luckily, Bauer is getting on a routine so we are trying our best to adjust other activities such as housework (and blogging) accordingly. Yes, I said routine. I am proud to report that we are officially getting a solid night of sleep. Yea! It is amazing at the difference one week can make with babies.

For now, I am going to post some random snapshots that I have been meaning to post but never got around to it.

Heather, Camden and Kyland came for a visit and brought Bauer this special lovie, a cozy security blanket that he already loves. I am sure Bauer will get a lot of use out of it over the years. Thank you Phelps family!

We celebrated Settle's birthday on Tuesday, June 30th. (See how late I am with this post.) Here we are enjoying a delicious Gelati at Rita's at Wrightsville Beach. Italian Ice and custard is pure happiness just like parenting! By the way, if you have never tried Rita's before, you must go!!! It has become our local hangout this summer :)!

Just recently, I had to go back for my 6 week postpartum checkup. We brought Bauer along so he could meet Dr. Hall, the doc that delivered him. She was so excited to see him and she couldn't believe how much he had grown in just six weeks. She just couldn't get enough of his cubby checks. Here is a picture of the three of us.
